Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

On July 1, 2025, the SFCED team met with a Kazakhstan delegation led by Alibek
Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, in the SF
Chamber’s Board Room to explore opportunities for collaboration between
Kazakhstan and San Francisco. The meeting focused on advancing climate
innovation and sustainability, with Kazakhstan seeking to diversify beyond
oil and gas into renewables and agtech, aligning with San Francisco’s
commitment to green technology. The meeting also explored partnerships in
technology and real estate investment, including support for Kazakh startup
Citix’s U.S. expansion. The delegation invited Chamber members to
participate in Kazakhstan’s Trade Business 2025 and shared plans to
develop the former Expo 2017 site in Astana into a permanent business hub,
underscoring both regions’ commitment to international cooperation and
sustainable growth.
